Arda Guler, Real Madrid’s new recruit from Turkish league, who has asserted his dominance on featuring for the first team, has left the club’s pre-season touring party after he injures his knee in the trip. He is reported to be sent to Spain, following his injury which will help him recuperate before the next season starts.
Arda Guler- Real’s next superstar
Arda Guler has been in the headlines over the last few months, owing to his exploits in the Turkish Super Lig, where he used to play for Fenerbahce. His speed, agility and ability to become a monstrous attacker has been the talk of the Turkish and Spanish cities. Few days before he joined Real, he was sought after by Madrid’s eternal rival, Barcelona, but, in one of the miraculous hijacks of football history, Arda joined Real, thus bolstering the Real Madrid’s army of promising youngsters, which already boasted Bellingham, Vinicius Junior and Camavinga among others.
He has been reported to set up some serious hype during Madrid training, which have impressed Real Madrid gaffer Carlo Ancelotti, who is planning to keep the star in one of the regulars for the season. But, unfortunately, he has not featured in any of Madrid’s games in the pre-season tour, which included narrow victory against AC Milan and an authoritative spiriting fixture in the game against Manchester United, which saw Los Blancos ride on goals from new recruit Jude Bellingham and Joselu to seal the deal against the Red Devils by 2-0.
However, he has not made his debut in the El Clasico against age-old rivals Barcelona, which saw the reigning champions maul Real by 3-0, courtesy goals from Dembele, Ferran and young wonder Fermin Lopez. His club officials have reported that he has been sent home for further diagnosis and rest.
Delayed debut for the young Turk
An official statement from Real Madrid stated, “Following tests carried out on our new signing Arda Guler, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the internal meniscus of his right knee. The player will be transferred to Madrid in the next few hours to continue with a specific course of treatment.”
As a result, Guler’s potential debut in the big stage might be delayed when Real start playing their initial matches in La Liga, as he could be out for a minimum duration of 3 weeks.
If everything goes well, Guler would be back on field by mid-August, as he would be eager to be presented in front of Santiago Bernabeu when Real hosts Getafe in September, after featuring in three away fixtures against Athletic Club, Almeria and Celta Vigo, consecutively. Guler, who was on priority list for both the Spanish heavyweights, surfaced when he was on target nine times for his Turkish franchise Fenerbahce, thus fetching him a dream deal in the La Liga.
