Christian Pulisic: American star joins AC Milan, to don the Rossoneri colors for four years

In the latest transfer updates in the Serie A, USA and former Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has joined AC Milan after an injury plagued season. He is set to don the Milan colors for a period of four years.

Pulisic joins AC Milan

Christian Pulisic has become a household name in the United States as he is seen to be the front runner of the elite class of American players who have excelled in Europe. The former Borussia Dortmund player, who had also etched his name in the history books of German football, had joined Chelsea in 2019, with a dream of playing in the Stamford Bridge for five years, a period which extended till 2024. He has been one of the most expensive players from the North America to don the prestigious Blues jersey, with a fee which surmounted a lumpsum 58 million euros.

A complete footballer

Pulisic in considered to be one of the complete footballers from the American soil as he has achieved almost everything possible while playing for Chelsea. His accolades boast of several trophies like Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup. His exploits in the frontal attack have fetched him to be one of the top choices for Chelsea board four years back. He had been in fine touch since his golden days in the colors of Borussia Dortmund, which led him to sign for the Blues.

He went on to score 26 goals in nearly 150 games in a Blues career spanning four years, but was short of a sweet swansong as the recently concluded season had been turbulent owing to injuries. He will be the third American to play for the Rossoneris after Sergino Dest and Oguchi Onyewu.

Pulisic had posted a short video message as he was elated to share the news of his pursuing a new destination, as he said, “I’m very happy to be here. I’m excited. I’m excited to start with this historic club. It’s legendary and I’m really excited to come here and try to win some titles here.”

AC Milan was crowned the champions of the Serie A last season, and addition of Pulisic would bolster the attack of the club, after their star Sandro Tonali has left the club for Newcastle and legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic has retired. He even posted on social media by saying, “Hi AC Milan supporters, just arrived in Milan, am so excited to be here and can’t wait to get started.”

The USA star has netted 25 goals in 60 outings for his country and is touted to become the country’s next biggest superstar as several other players from the American soil would like to follow his footsteps in the coming years.
