Manchester City vs Southampton: FA Cup Semifinals- Predictions, Head-to-head

Manchester City will look for another victory in a tournament as they face Sheffield United in FA Cup semifinals, after thumping Bayern Munich out of the European top flight 4-1 on aggregate as they try to register a comfortable win over non Premier-League side Sheffield, meanwhile in the other semifinal, local rivals Manchester United will face Brighton, who are flying high this season.

City comes on the back of a brilliant six goal mauling of Burnley last month, with star striker Erling Haaland bagging a superb hattrick, with world cup winner Julian Alvarez and Cole Palmer getting on the scoresheet. Sheffield, however made into the last four, thanks to a hard fought victory over Blackburn Rovers, scraping past them 3-2, thanks to an injury time winner from Tommy Doyle, as they will now face a daunting task in the form of Manchester City.

Predictions

Pep’s side is one of the busiest and formidable teams in Europe this season. They are running for the title behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, and is into the semis of Champions League, to face Real Madrid next.

In the FA Cup this season, they have overcome the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea, cruising past them. They can sniff for a place in the finals as they might look to topple their opponents. They have kept four clean sheets this season.

The “Blades” have maintained a perfect record this season , and are unbeaten against the English giants. Considering the squad depth City has, they are bound to emerge victorious, unless Sheffield creates a miracle.

The two teams have faced each other 125 times, with City deservingly leading the number of wins, ahead by 53-38, but Pep’s side is unable to beat their opponent in their last six meetings, losing four of them. So, it would be interesting to look for this perfect matchup, as both will be expected to proceed with full force.
