Liverpool is looking for options to enhance their attack after the departure of their star striker Roberto Firmino. It seems that void seems to have been filled up by star Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, as the Reds have decided to trigger the 60 million pounds release clause for the Leipzig star.
A valuable addition to the midfield
Szoboszlai has been doing wonders for his club RB Leipzig and has equally represented his national team Hungary on the bigger stage. The 22-year old who is touted to be the next big thing should be a valuable inclusion for Klopp’s men as the German master tactician would be looking to bolster his midfield setup. Dominik’s attacking prowess, his finishing ability and impeccable dribbles has led Leipzig to a classy third place finish in the Bundesliga standings. He has featured in 31 appearances for the club, registering six goals and eight assists to his name, thus making him one of the valuable players for the Germans. The transfer talks have escalated quickly as it is speculated that he will be unveiled in a few days.
A star in the midfield
Szobo, as he is called fondly by his teammates, has been one of the top players for Leipzig over the last two years, since joining from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in 2021. He went on to amass 20 goals and assisted 21 of them in 91 outings for the German side, tempting Klopp to sign him as his attacking midfielder. Formerly, Liverpool has got hold of Argentine World Cup Winner Alexis Mac-Allister, and Szobo’s inclusion would be instrumental in leading the attack from the midline.
He scored in Leipzig’s 2-0 victory over Frankfurt when “Die Roten Bullen” secured a comfortable win, thus clinching the German Cup for the second consecutive time. He has been used in various positions owing to his versatility, even playing as a central forward. Thus, he might be utilized by Klopp in various setups, owing to his assets.
A switch on the other direction
Opposite to Szoboszlai, it is Carvalho who has went to the German side RB Leipzig on loan. He made eight starts for the Reds last season, scoring three goals. the young 20-year old turk will look to gain some experience in a different condition.
