Cavani set to join Boca Juniors

Former PSG and Manchester United front man and Uruguayan superstar Edinson Cavani is prepared to take on a new journey as he edges closer to a move to Argentine greats Boca Juniors, as the club has reached an agreement to sign the Valencia striker, on a free transfer and is set to don their colors for a one-and-a-half year. The transfer news was revealed by football pundit Fabrizio Romano.

Cavani, as he was fondly called as “El Matador”, for his killer exploits and soothing finishes in front of the goal, will be remembered for his trademark “arrow” celebration, after scoring a goal. He was on the headlines over the past few weeks, as he was speculated to terminate his contract with “Los Che”, amidst lackluster performance in the Spanish top flight, last season, where he managed to get on the scoresheet five times.

A Valencia outcast?

It is heard that Boca has issued an ultimatum to the star to sort out his situations with his current club, with Cavani set to rip up his contract with Los Che, although he has one year left on his deal. Finally, with all rumors coming to an end, as he is set to play with Boca. But, it is believed that he did become a Valencia outcast over the last few weeks, as he fell out of favor for coach Ruben Baraja, who overlooked him since his appointment.

After leaving Manchester United, former PSG record goal scorer had decided to try out his luck at Mestalla stadium and joined the same last year. But, unfortunately, he could not make an instant impact which was expected from him, a star of a caliber as his, as a result, he was soon marked as an outcast for Baraja and his team.

To gear up for next year’s South American spectacle?

The 36-year old Cavani, who has reached the swansong of his career, will look to have an utmost preparation while playing in the South American league, where he will look to play in one of the greatest spectacles of South America, the Copa America, next year. He will always be one of the gun strikers of his generation, who will look to get back on groove by staying in best shape for the tournament next year.

Football expert Romano tweeted, “Edinson Cavani to Boca Juniors, here we go! Verbal agreement completed on deal valid until December 2024. Cavani has accepted conditions of the agreement as heโ€™s leaving Valencia on free transfer, as reported yesterday. Contracts to be signed soon.โ€
