FC Barcelona has sealed their next target for the next season as president Joan Laporta has confirmed the signature of Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque as the youngster would join the Catalan club from January 2024. Although it is speculated that he might join the club this transfer window, this decision depends on the shackles of Financial Fair Play.

Vitor Roque to join La Liga champions

Vitor Roque has been quite a famous name in Catalonia since the last few weeks. The Atletico Paranaense star, who has been one of the top talents in South American football circuit over the last season, he was being chased by La Liga champions since the beginning of this transfer window. A quick-footed guy who has impressed his fans and supporters world wide with a classy dribbling style and suave finishing, is slated to follow the footsteps of his predecessor Neymar, after the latter came to Barcelona from the streets of Santos, and has got his name etched in the history books of the La Liga champions, being one of the brilliant wingers in world football.

Roque is touted to be one of the biggest names and has the caliber to become the greatest players in the world, thus his addition would bolster Xavi’s attack, which already boasted of stars like Lewandowski, Raphinha and Dembele.

“It’s already booked”

Laporta has assured Barca fans about the signing of Roque as he was heard saying, “It’s already booked”, when asked about the youngster’s arrival. He further added, “We have this feasibility plan and it is scheduled for January or June unless the foreseen circumstances improve, although they could still occur. The contract is signed and done and the player is already from Barca”.

Reportedly, Roque has been in a dazzling form for the Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense as he amassed 15 goals in 30 outings and has assisted his mates in six more occasions. He could be a perfect fit for Xavi, as the legendary midfielder would look to enhance the attack of the club.

Discussion about Dembele and Fati

Dembele has been one of the best wingers for the club this season as he had been untouchable in the flanks. The French, who was updated to be a regular starter for Barca as he was loved by his boss and teammates, had proved his mettle every time he donned the Catalan colors. His contract expires in 2024, thus Laporta having one year in hand to seal the deal for him. Several heavyweights are interested in grabbing him, as French champions PSG would be eager to fill in the spot of compatriot Mbappe, provided the star striker leaves next season. Meanwhile, Laporta has been confident in proposing a new deal for the Frenchman as he explained, “Dembele wants to continue at Barca and I think he is not in favor of going to any team.”

He further added, “Dembele is a player very loved by the coach, the technical office and by me. I am a great fan. Now we are in negotiations so that it continues and we hope that it will be resolved.”

Speaking about their No.10 Ansu Fati, Laporta had sounded optimistic and said Xavi might give him chances to prove his worth as he is carrying the weight of a valuable jersey number, once worn by Messi. He seemed to have fallen down the pecking order for Xavi owing to his decline of form and injuries, but Laporta wants that the once favored youngster should be given another chance, as he said, “Well, at Barca and he wants to succeed at Barca He has a gift, which is a scorer. Xavi told me that in training the ones who score the most goals are Lewandowski and Ansu. Xavi is determined to give him opportunities.”

Fati will come on the back of some brilliant cameos in the Nations League where he played a pivotal role in leading Spain to their maiden Nations League victory. In spite of having an injury-plagued season, he managed to become the second highest scorer for the Catalan champions, after Lewandowski.
