Harry Kane transfer saga has finally come to an end as the England captain has decided to switch his allegiance to German side Bayern Munich, and is travelling to Germany ahead of his medical at Bayern Munich. Before he boarded the plane, there was a slight delay as he was held up for some minute discussions in the contract.

Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, finally “here we go”

There has been a lot of discussions and debates regarding Kane’s future over the last few months as the England international was rumored to switch allegiance to German side Bayern Munich. It has been the talk of the town since last few weeks as the rumor of Kane joining Munich had strengthened a notch further, as Daniel Levy owned side Tottenham were reportedly declining al feasible offers from Munich. The German serial winners have found themselves in a favorable position after their final bid of 104 million pounds was accepted by Spurs, and today, after a long season of “Catch me if you can”, Kane is on the flight to complete his medical as a Bayern player.

But, Bayern would have suffered from a minor debacle in their deal as Kane and his entourage was blocked from boarding the plane, as a chartered plane stationed at Stansted airport hangar was about to take him to Germany. He was urged to take shelter at a family home, but the issue which rose between Kane and Bayern was ironed out, Spurs thus giving him green signal to board the flight.

A conundrum between two sides

Kane, who is one of the leading goal scorers in the Premier League, was in a trance till the last week, whether to accept Bayern’s terms or opt to stay at the North London club. Both sides should favor him, as if he stayed in Spurs for one more season, he might be keen to break Premier League’s all time top scorer record, which is presently housed safely by former England legend Alan Shearer. Shearer stands at the top, amassing 260 goals, where Kane in stationed on the second position, with 213 goals, thus a high chance of him surpassing Shearer would have been evident had he stayed here.

On the other hand, the lack of trophies for a striker possessing caliber of Kane would be a tragedy. Maybe, it would be one of the reasons for Kane to choose a new destination in the German champions, where he might get the chance to clinch some silverwares, which will fill his trophy cabinet. Finally, he decided to join Bayern and is reported to have agreed personal terms with the German serial winners, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

A legend in the Spurs jersey

Harry Kane, although he is leaving his long-term club, switching his side to Bayern, he will always be remembered by the streets due to his prolific goal-scoring prowess. He has amassed 280 goals for the club, out of which, 213 has come in the Premier League. He will be a legend in the Spurs colors, as he departs with huge boots to fill in, after 19 years, having joined the club at the age of 11.

In Bayern, he will be earning double than what he used to get at Tottenham, and is speculated to have signed for the club on a four-year deal, which will see him don the Bayern colors till 2027. It is expected that the German Bundesliga winners will unveil their latest record signing ahead of their 2023/24 curtain raiser against Werder Bremen next week.

Will Harry Kane set a “hurri-Kane” at Allianz Arena, or will he be sabotaged, only time will tell as Kane sets to embark on his new journey to become a Munich great.
