Harry Kane: English captain scores on debut for Bayern Munich as they maul Werder Bremen 4-0 in their season opener

Harry Kane has been in the headlines once again as he scores on his debut for the German champions as Bayern Munich ease past Werder Bremen 4-0 in their Bundesliga opener. Along with scoring a banger, he also assisted Leroy Sane in one of his first of many as the serial winners began their title defense in style.

Harry Kane scores on debut

Harry Kane, the prolific English captain, who has been in the headlines over the past few weeks owing to his goal-scoring prowess, has once again hit the right chord for Bayern Munich as he scored a superb goal on his first official start for Thomas Tuchel’s side. The record striker for Tottenham Hotspurs, Kane has been in a brilliant form over the last few decades as he left Premier League, being on the second spot on the list of highest goal scorers in the league, with his numbers 47 shy of English legend Alan Shearer. He began right from where he had left off in England, as he began his dream run in Bayern with a voluptuous assist to fellow striker Leroy Sane, who banged his shot on the 4th minute, securing a lead for Bayern in the early hour.

Kane could be one of the top grossing stars for the German heavyweights as he had joined them on a fee of 100 million pounds, which included further add-ons, thus settling for one of the biggest players in the country, after Lewandowski. As he was named in the starting eleven, he had got a shot to glory to continue his impressive run on the biggest stage, and he did not fail to deliver, assisting Sane’s first goal of the season, as the former Manchester City star slotted past the goalkeeper.

With Sane scoring one more goal on the 90th minute, Mathys Tel, who had replaced Kane, scored a sweet goal past Bremen keeper Pavlenka, to round off a remarkable victory for the defending champions.

“I was a little bit nervous”

Kane was asked about his performance in the post-match presentation with DAZN, where he was heard saying, “I was a little bit nervous [and] excited to play the game of course. We started well with a goal in the first few minutes. For sure there were a few butterflies, but as always when I get on the pitch, instinct takes over. “

Bayern’s record signing, who is touted to fill the big boots of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, after he went to ply his trade in Bayern’s nemesis Barcelona, had not received a dream start for them as his side was thumped by Dani Olmo’s hattrick in Super Cup final, eventually losing 0-3 to RB Leipzig. But, he was destined to have a perfect start as he made into the starting eleven last night, and quite similarly, he did not misuse his opportunity.

His presence of mind and sharp thinking skills sent Leroy Sane in to a running spree as the former Manchester City star slotted a low effort in the bottom corner, thus giving Bayern the evitable lead of 1-0.

Bremen had fielded a much improved squad in the second half, with preparations of thwarting Bayern’s attacks in full throttle. On the 74th minute, Kane finally got his chance to break free from the shackles of Bremen defense, and he snatched the opportunity from opponent, thus billing a right footed effort in the goal, past keeper Pavlenka from 15 yards, thus doubling Bayern’s lead.

Canadian star Alphonso Davies was instrumental in securing Kane’s debut goal as the wingback picked the England skipper, passing the ball with an enhanced touch of finesse, before the striker picked his spot to score his first goal in the Bayern colors.

Harry Kane is deemed to improve Bayern’s chance of winning the league, as prior the kick-off, boss Thomas Tuchel has described the vastness of “Kane effect” which would increase team’s “chances of winning massively”, and rightfully, Kane had delivered for him. Thus, it is safe to say that Harry Kane has started his “hurri-Kane” effect on the German soil, and would look to continue this streak of impressive plays in the upcoming fixtures.
