Harry Kane and his transfer saga seems to take a Mbappe-esque turn as Tottenham Hotspurs owner contacts chairman Daniel Levy to hand out contract extension ultimatum for the star striker, amid interests from PSG and Bayern Munich. Situation has turned out to be same as French striker Kylian Mbappe, who was excluded from the club’s pre-season friendly trip to Asia, as the French star was “warned” by PSG board to renew his contract, or accept a summer transfer by the end of this season.
Harry Kane asked for a contract ultimatum
Harry Kane has been one of the top strikers for Tottenham since ages. He has been leading the goal scoring charts for the North London club, and is considered as one of the legendary strikers in the Premier League, with his tally 47 shy of League icon Alan Shearer. Owing to his stature, which has benefited him since years, and his goal scoring prowess, he will always be remembered in London. One thing, which Harry Kane deserved but did not achieve, was a silverware, to justify his greatness. As a result, he was looking to depart his club, and opt for new destinations like German champions Bayern Munich. He would not be short of suitors due to his exceptional abilities as top heavyweights like PSG, Manchester United and Bayern have been monitoring his situation since a long time.
Over the last few weeks, Kane’s transfer saga has hastened as the deadline days are slowly approaching. He has entered the last year of his contract, and as a result, chairman Daniel Levy has reached all limits to convince the star to stay. But, offers from Bayern, who have seen their bids rejected by Spurs twice, have tempted Kane to delay his contract talks. According to several reports in England, it is speculated that Kane might receive a warning to be sold this summer if he refuses to sign on paper to extend his contract.
Not for sale
Club chairman Daniel Levy had previously intimidated that his “favorite” striker Harry Kane is not for sale. But, according to “The Telegraph”, Spurs owner Joe Lewis has made his decision on the future of the star, as he warned that the England international will not be allowed to see out his contract this year and leave for free next season, instead he will be sold to one of his suitors, preferably Bayern, provided he does not pen a new deal with them, a similar stance to what PSG has opted for their superstar Kylian Mbappe, when the French was left out from their pre-season Asian trip, owing to some contract fiasco.
France or Germany, where is Kane headed next?
Amidst his transfer rumors from other countries, Kane has a suitor from Premier League, as Manchester United had vied to lure him in to the squad last season, but their offer was turned down by Levy’s humongous valuation of the player, standing at 100 million pounds. On the other hand, Bayern have been monitoring the striker’s situation, but they have seen their offers turned down twice.
As a result, it will be a matter of great speculation where the star from England will be headed next season, as the upcoming weeks would prove to be vital for him.
