French star, Kylian Mbappe has reportedly contacted his Ligue 1 club, Paris Saint Germain and informed them that he would not be extending his contract with them till 2025.
Mbappe to leave PSG?
Mbappe’s original deal had been planned to run till the end of season 2023/24. However, the arab-owned club, infamous for their commercialistic deals for sure is not as enthusiastic about letting the French superstar leave the club for nothing.
Hence it is being speculated that he might be up on the market to be sold this summer window.
Only the previous month it had been reported by the sources that the 3-year long deal with Mbappe, signed last summer, had been broken unsuccessful, and was changed to a 2-year deal with the option of an extended one year which would have been up to Mbappe, whether he wanted an extension or not.
According to the current situations, the 24-year-old will now be entering the last year of the deal. In case Mbappe refused to trigger the extension of one year offered by the Parisian club, he would be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club outside of France in the upcoming January window.
Mbappe to choose Real Madrid as next club?
According to the insiders reports, there are chances of Premier league clubs showing interest in the world cup winner for obvious reasons; however, Mbappe on the other hand apparently has his heart set on Real Madrid.
French football expert Jonathan Johnson told Sky Sports:
“PSG are already saying goodbye to Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos this summer and there are also attempts on PSG’s part to separate from Neymar as well so…PSG are now in a difficult position where they have to either convince him (Mbappe) to extend or potentially cash in on him this summer to avoid the risk of losing him on a free next year..”
