Kylian Mbappe: French star on target by Saudi side Al-Ahli as the club submits a record bid for the 2018 World Cup winner

Kylian Mbappe seems to have found a new suitor for his next destination as Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ahli have made a record bid of 259 million pounds for the French superstar. Along with them, several other clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United are in hot pursuit of the star.

Al-Ahli joins list of potential suitors for Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe-PSG transfer saga has been on the headlines since last few weeks, but, their chronicles seem to have taken a tumultuous turn as he has been left out of PSG’s squad to tour Japan and South Korea for pre-season friendlies. Rather, he has been on the point of facing several hostile scenarios in the club as it is heard that owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi has handed out a contract ultimatum for the star, either he signs a contract extension, or he will be put on sale by the club to be pursued by others.

Several European giants have been linked with Mbappe’s move in the next season, as Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid are touted to be most favorite for the French World Cup winner. Among others, Chelsea and Tottenham have been the latest entrants to sign him. But, amidst all these latest stories, Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli have submitted a bid out of the blue, outscoring and outpacing everyone with their might, as they have decided to table a humongous bid of 259 million pounds for Mbappe.

Queue of clubs

PSG believe they have received a bid from at least five top clubs, who have expressed their utmost interest in signing Mbappe, including Tottenham. People in the French capital believe there is a “hot market” for the star, as several other clubs are expected to join the list of clubs interested in signing him, including Inter Milan, Chelsea and Manchester United.

The French champions have made their intentions clear of selling their top striker and would listen to any offers proposed for him, but with Al-Ahli submitting a record bid, it is going to be a hurdle for most of the clubs to reach near them.

Real Madrid might try to make a formal bid for the player this season as they would not want to miss out on this golden opportunity again. Mbappe has even told club officials that he might sit out the entire season to leave for free next season, but club board would not align with him, as they do not want their superstar to depart the club for nothing. As a result, a perplexing yet disagreeable situation has arisen in the French capital.

PSG wants Mbappe to leave, by hook or by crook

According to Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol, PSG are trying to get rid of their star by any means, as he was heard saying, “Interestingly, what I’ve been told is that PSG are willing to let him leave on loan next season. As far as PSG are concerned, they just want him to go. But of course, the player remains in a strong position because he has a contract. If he wants, he can sacrifice next season and move to Real Madrid for nothing next summer.”

He further added, “I’ve also been told that PSG have had a mix of interest. The people that have been contacting them have been talking about loans and talking about buying him. They’ve also been talking about player-and-cash deals. The clubs include two or three from the Premier League, as well as from Italy, Spain and Saudi Arabia.”

Mbappe’s transfer situation turns trickier than before as football fans would be enthusiastic to know the next destination of one of the greatest stars of his generation.
