Who is Lamine Yamal? The Youngest Player to create milestone for Barcelona

La Masia has been a powerhouse of producing and nurturing young talents when it comes to playing for the heavyweights. Starting with Messi, Xavi and Iniesta, Busquets, it has always been something to be proud of the hierarchy while playing for Barca.

The Catalan club has boasted of the greats it has produced, with some players taking all over the world with their playstyle or talents they possess.

For instance, the golden generation of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta has had everyone swoon over them, with the trio winning World Cup for their nations respectively. Overall, La Masia academy has been important for young players who would go on to represent the senior club in future.

Lamine Yamal: one for the future

In the present day scenario, Barcelona had made several wonders when it comes to give the opportunity to this young gems who light up the field with their classy, naïve yet smooth playstyle.

Be it Gavi, Fati or Alejandro Balde, it has always been so refreshing to watch this players fire up the game with their speed, and it could be evident from their proficiency that La Masia blood runs through their veins.

Last night, another youngster lighted up the Camp Nou with his play. Lamine Yamal set a milestone for Barcelona to become the youngest player to play for the Catalan senior team.

The 15-year old prodigy was called in the senior team before the crunch tie against Atletico de Madrid, due to his superb performances in the academy matches.

His debut looked quite promising as he substituted another La Masia graduate, the “prodigal” Gavi, on the 83rd minute. he is dubbed to be a future star and his seven minute stay on the field lasted brilliantly, as he was about to finish a superb strike, only to be blocked by Betis goalkeeper Rui Silva.

Now, it would be looked upon as Barca would like to register Lamine in to the first team, for the next season, as Xavi and board believe he would become one of the “untouchables” in the future.
