According to the latest reports, Premier League giants, Manchester United have been sneaking to sell players Scott McTominay and Fred in this very summer window itself.
Manchester United to sell both McTominay and Fred
Despite the general reports previously stating that any one of the two were on the verge of seeing an exit from club, as per the new standings with Mason Mount being a new addition to the squad, both players might be seeing an exit from the Old Trafford.
As per the trusted sources, what is even more intriguing is the fact that United’s manager Erik ten Hag might not just stop with McTominay and Fred, and might as well be going after the necks of Harry Maguire and Jadon Sancho and is intent on offloading the squad.
The sources claim that Fulham has been showing interest in Fred, while on the other hand, it is no secret that West Ham United and Newcastle United are both eyeing up Scott McTominay.
West Ham United might look forward to make a deal for McTominay considering the fact their key player Declan Rice has a finalized deal with Arsenal and would soon be holding medical in the next 48 hours with the Gunners, leading West Ham to fill the spot left behind by the English midfielder.
Erik ten Hag to offload Harry Maguire, Fred, McTominay and more?
Interestingly, Fred has not only gathered interest from Europe, but also from the new spotlight of world football, Saudi Arabia, whose riches are no secret.
Manchester United would be left with a bare midfield if both the elite players were to be sold at the time considering that their midfield is already threadbare.
Unless the Red Devils plan on making a brand new signing for their midfield, the only strong midfielders left in Ten Hag’s squad are Casemiro, Mount, Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek.
United have been rumoured to be in contact with Sofyan Amrabat; however, a deal seems off limits since United are on a tight budget as per the insider reports.
In case only one of them is put on sale, Fred will most likely be spared by ten Hag since he tends to favour him over McTominay, owing to the fact that Fred had been superior to the Scotsman as an academy graduate in denominations. Only time will tell what their fates will be.
