Mason Mount: Midfielder favors United switch amidst Arsenal and Liverpool chance

Mason Mount has been one of the top players of the “Blues” since being a starter for them. The English midfielder might have sparked interest among several clubs in the Premier League, amidst a mediocre performance for Chelsea this season.

Mason Mount might favor Manchester United among others

The Chelsea superstar has been one of the top priorities of the club this season. An academy graduate, he rose up the ranks of Chelsea, and got in to the first team few seasons back, and went on to in the Champions League, edging hardcore rivals Manchester City in a closely fought battle which saw the London side win 1-0, thanks to a Kai Havertz wonder.

“Leaning” towards rivals

According to English reporter David Ornstein of “The Athletic”, it has been speculated that Mason Mount is “leaning” for a move towards fellow Premier League rivals Manchester United, amid Liverpool and Arsenal interest. He has been known for his immaculate dribbling skills which often involve tearing past the opponent defenders and finding the back of the net, and is famous for assisting beauties to his teammates, which often consist passing the ball from defensive half and volleying in front of mates.

It was reported earlier that Erik Ten Hag’s side has been preparing for a handsome bid to outdo their rivals Liverpool and Arsenal. The bid would be planned as 55 million pound move for the England international, which would see him in the red shirt from the next season.

Breakthrough season two seasons back

Mason Mount, although a Cobham graduate, had garnered praise all around the world two years back when he had delivered a double-digit goals and assists, and this season became his breakthrough as he went on to become one of the important pivots for Chelsea.

As a result, Chelsea would definitely value him as one of the important assets for the club and if he moves out, that club needs to pay a hefty amount in order to add him to their squad.

Mount is set to enter the final year of his contract and might look for potential destinations for next season. So, Chelsea is set to value their talented academy graduate at around 85 million pounds.

Meanwhile, he has been sidelined since April owing to a pelvic injury, after scoring three and assisting in further six goals. He would potentially be sidelined in the next match against Manchester United too.
