Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint-Germain have made the announcement of signing defender Lucas Hernandez. The French international has signed a deal which will take him five years, until 2028 with the club for €50m from Bayern Munich, and while his time here, he will wear the number 21 jersey.

Paris Saint-Germain surely have an inkling for World Cup winning players and their inclusion in their squad, Lucas Hernandez had been an important player during the 2018 Russia World Cup winning campaign of the France national team.
The left-footed defender had been a top choice of Didier Deschamps, starting every match during the World Cup, in which he had also provided two assists, the first one came during their round of 16 victory against Argentine, and the second during their finals against the underdogs, Croatia.
The 27-year-old defender is the elder brother of another well known player, Theo Hernandez. Lucas has made a total of 33 appearances for the French national team, during which he has won the 2021 UEFA Nations League trophy with the team.
However, ever since getting seriously injured during the opening match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar against Australia, Lucas Hernandez is yet to put on the Les Blues jersey.
Lucas Hernandez signs contract with PSG until 2028
Not only in the country side, but Lucas also has a good record in club side, back in 2018 he had won the UEFA Super Cup and Europa League with his then club Atletico Madrid, the club with which the French defender made his debut is professional football back in 2014.
Lucas Hernandez quickly being a versatile and quick-witted player who can mould himself easily in both left-back or center-back position quickly established himself as a key player in Bayern Munich, which he joined later in 2019.
Hernandez went on the win around six titles with the German club by 2020, including the Champions League, the domestic Bundesliga, another UEFA Super Cup to his name, the FIFA Club World Cup, the German Super Cup, and the German Cup. He went on to win the domestic title again in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
When asked about how he felt, Lucas Hernandez stated that he was very excited and felt very happy to be there, and that he had been waiting to join PSG for a long time now and that it is a special day for him now that it has happened.
