Bellingham nets first goal of many in Madrid colors
Jude Bellingham, who is considered one of the talented midfielders in the recent times, will be happy to score his first goal, donning the Madrid shirt. Formerly of Borussia Dortmund, the England international has been rated highly by several top coaches, including Ancelotti, as a result of which, he was successful in bringing Bellingham on deck for Real. His ability to read the game intensively coupled with his perfect eye for the goal is what makes him most sought after, as his dribbling skills could be the talk of the Spanish capital in the upcoming season.
It took six minutes for Bellingham to relish his dream as he chipped his shot over United’s latest signee Andre Onana on the goal, after defender Antonio Rudiger witnessed his run in at the back. One of the dream goals for any footballer, this could go down the memory lane for the Englishman as one of the memorable starters.
Apart from scoring with six minutes on the clock, Bellingham was involved in an ugly brawl later in the first half with United’s Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez, after “Lucho”, as is Martinez known by his fans, attempted a rough tackle on Jude. The Englishman was vexed at this rash challenge from the Argentine, as he confronted him after this.
United continued to suffer another blow as they lost 18-year old midfielder Kobbie Mainoo to a forced injury within the first 10 minutes, who was replaced by Danish star Christian Eriksen.
Joselu’s outrageous overhead kick
Things were starting to look better for the Red Devils in the second half as they came close to the scoring range a couple of times, but it was Real all over again as Onana was agile in front of the goal, saving multiple strikes from Joselu, with Nacho being unlucky and hitting the post after Militao’s shot was treated with a sublime goal-line clearance.
But, it would be Joselu, who will be the star of the game as he rounded off Real’s dominance in the game with a miraculous overhead kick in the dying minutes of the game. Lucas Vazquez was instrumental in assisting the ball to the Spanish striker, who went above everyone in the game, scoring a beautiful spectacle, which practically sealed the deal for the Spanish heavyweights, as after that point, United could not find a way to secure a stalemate with few minutes left on the clock.
Now, it would be time for Spanish capital to greet their latest hero by chanting “Hey Jude”, as Bellingham will be prepared to showcase his abilities in front of Santiago Bernabeu, after mesmerizing on the American soil.
