Reece James blatantly shuts down transfer rumors
Reece James has been one of the most sought after defenders for Chelsea in recent years. An academy product of Kew Park Rangers, he has risen through the ranks of several English clubs as he joined the Blues at the age of 8, after playing an one-year stint at Fulham. Previously a striker who idolized former Chelsea great Didier Drogba, he switched his position to play as a right back which provided a much needed impetus in his career. He has become one of the leading defenders in the Premier League owing to his clearances and shooting capabilities.
Chelsea in for a “whole”sale
Chelsea seems to be undergoing a full-scale renovation as Pochettino’s side has seen a major fallout in this season’s transfer market. The former Tottenham manager has decided to sell most of his team’s regular players as he has expressed his desire for a full-on refurbishment of the club with several top players in the form of Mason Mount, Edouard Mendy, N’Golo Kante, Kai Havertz already on their way to new destinations.
In connection to James’ mate Kai Havertz who completed a signing of 65 million pounds to the Emirates and will be flaunting the Gunners’ jersey from next season, one of the Arsenal fans took to social media to ask fellow followers worldwide about a possible transfer of James to Arsenal. But, several Gunners fans will be disappointed on witnessing the banter that James put on in his reply. The fan asked, “Reece James to Arsenal. Who says no?”. In a playful exchange where James basically destroyed the fan, saying, “I say no”. This was marked by several supporters all around the world as he was dubbed to be one of “Chelsea’s own” as they demanded to make him the “Captain”.
In response to his tweet, Chelsea fueled the exchange by saying him as “one of our own”, thus garnering confidence from the club board.
James has made more than 140 appearances for the London club, playing a pivotal role in leading his side to win the Champions League in 2021. Along with Reece, his sister Lauren is also a part of the women’s outfit of Chelsea. Unfortunately, this season he could only manage a meagre 16 outings in a torrid season for Chelsea, and he would hope to be a perfect fit for the former Tottenham manager’s scheme of things in the next season.
