Sergej Milinkovic-Savic: Serbian star completes a sensational move to Saudi side Al-Hilal

Saudi Arab has once been on the move again in the transfer market as Al-Hilal have completed a move for Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, for a deal of 40 million euros. The Saudi Pro League club has got hold of the star after they had managed to bring on deck Kalidou Koulibaly and Ruben Neves, thus having a successful summer transfer window so far.

Milinkovic-Savic joins Al-Hilal

Saudi Arab has been one of the top destinations for several European stars this season. Following Cristiano Ronaldo who had switched to Al-Nassr this January, it has become a routine for several top stars to join the Gulf country. Starting with Ronaldo’s former teammate Karim Benzema who has joined Al-Nassr’s rival Al-Ittihad to Chelsea legends Kante and Ziyech, who have switched allegiance to Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr respectively, it has been a queue of stars to feature in the Saudi Pro League. With the signing of Milinkovic-Savic, Saudi league seems to have got another classy star to feature in their league.

The Serbian midfielder has been one of the top players in Italian side Lazio since the last couple of years. His tall and strong stature has been the talk of the club as he was instrumental in spearheading the attack of Lazio, while playing alongside fellow striker Immobile.

A Serbian star

Sergej has been linked to several European heavyweights over the past years as he was a renowned name in the Italian circuit since last eight years. The 28-year old has amassed 69 goals and have assisted more than 50 times to his mates in nearly 350 appearances for the club. His addition would definitely bolster Al-Hilal’s attack as they have several attackers on their fore, who would benefit from his addition.

The contract between the parties have been agreed for 3 years as the club will be blessed to have someone of Savic’s caliber on their deck, as he will bring with him his never-say-never mentality, coupled with eye-catching dribbles and classy finishes. His accolades in Lazio include a Coppa Italia victory in 2018-19 season, and was also pivotal in securing a Champions League spot for the first time in 2020.
