It is that time of the year between the seasons when top heavyweights all around the world go head-to-head in a stiff competition to sign several top guns to bolster their team. This time is not an exception too as several clubs have already grabbed top talents and seasoned players likewise, and some are going hard in a stiff competition to sign their targets.
Neymar braces for a Barcelona return
Neymar, the Brazilian ‘wonderkid’, who had graced the Catalan colors with his smooth street smart football style and attacking finesse, is rumored to return to Barcelona once again after his PSG contract expires. Neymar had been one of the top performers of La Liga champions FC Barcelona over the years and was an integral member of the famous troika of Messi-Neymar-Suarez. This dream trio has graced the stands of Camp Nou and will always be remembered for their contribution in winning the coveted treble during the reign of former Spain manager Luis Enrique, before Neymar left the Catalan club to pursue his “French dream”, to play for French champions PSG in a record transfer.
Addition of the Brazilian superstar would bolster the attack of Barcelona as Xavi would like to implement his tactics by playing a proper left winger in that place, which was graciously covered by Neymar’s compatriot Raphinha or French star Dembele. A star attacker for the club in his previous stint when he amassed 105 goals and assisted 76 of them, his inclusion would prove extremely valuable for the Catalan champions as he would look to bring his versatility back to the Barca’s attacking front, which now boasts of Polish star Robert Lewandowski among others. Barcelona wants French champions PSG to pay majority of the player’s wages to seal the deal.
City considering a Dutch swap
Manchester City is looking to sign a star midfielder in the form of Frenkie De Jong from Barcelona, as the Dutch stalwart would be a worthy inclusion in the City midfield which already comprises legends like Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish. They have lost a pivotal member from their team in the form of Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona, as their skipper will be donning the Catalan colors from the next season. The clutch “Gundo”, who has been one of their best players over the last few seasons, scoring time and again in fringe matches will be a valuable addition to the Barca midfield which comprises stars like Pedri, Gavi.
Konate to apply for an “Italian Job”
Ibrahima Konate, the Liverpool defender and a gun player, has been identified as a potential replacement for Serie A champions Napoli as they have lost their best defender Kim Min-Jae to German champions Bayern Munich. Kim was instrumental in leading Napoli to their first Scudetto title after a period of three decades. He would be heading to Germany to play for the German serial winners Bayern Munich after they had snatched the victory in the dying minutes from their close rivals Borussia Dortmund owing to a Musiala screamer.
As his replacement, Napoli are looking to bring on deck Ibrahima Konate, who has been a regular for Klopp’s men in the past season. Konate will look to apply for the “Italian Job” as he would like to play his trade for the Italian champions.
