Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo “RKOed” Odion Ighalo in Al Nassr’s 2-0 defeat against Al Hilal

Cristiano Ronaldo and his team Al Nassr had a torrid outing last night against their rivals Al Hilal. They lost the match 2-0 in the Saudi Premier League. And yet their talisman managed to steal the headlines, albeit for the wrong reasons.

During the game, Cristiano Ronaldo was seen visually frustrated by the presence of Odion Ighalo. The once Manchester United player, Ighalo scored 2 goals against Al-Nassr. And the 5-time Ballon D ‘Or winner ended up “RKO-ing” his opponent.

Al Nassr was not having the best of nights on the footballing field. They were supposed to get points from the game to take an early lead on their league rivals Al Ittihad.

But that did not turn out to be the case for them. Instead, they found themselves lagging behind in the 42nd minute of the game. Courtesy to a goal by Odion Ighalo, who converted from the spot to give his team the lead.

That was just the beginning of the miseries for Al Nassr. In the second half, nearly 20 minutes later, Ighalo managed to managed to find the back of the net again. This time doubling his team’s lead.

This left the whole of Al Nassr team visibly frustrated. They couldn’t see a way back into the game. And the player most affected by all this was their captain Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese striker was booked moments after the second goal was scored by Al Hilal. And he just proved everyone how frustrated he was by the presence of Ighalo as he leaped onto the back of the 33-year-old striker.

Ronaldo got the former Man United striker into some kind of headlock which later twitter labelled as “RKO;” a popular move from the rings of WWE.

Al Nassr Lacking in Saudi Premier League

The reason behind Ronaldo’s frustration seems to be ingrained in his performance. Earlier in the game he had goal ruled out by VAR. and later he claimed that he was denied a clear penalty by the referee.

As a result, Al Nasr failed to score a goal in the game and lost it. They are now 4 points behind their rivals Al Ittihad on the Saudi Premier League Points table.
